Hi, I'm Makayla!

I own and operate a micro-flower farm located in northern Indiana, approximately an hour and a half north of downtown Indianapolis. Est. 2024.

My love for flowers and nature dates back to my childhood. I spent countless hours outdoors, helping my parents in the garden, admiring my mom's flower beds, and exploring the beauty of each season.

In 2022, my husband and I bought a small house tucked on 20 acres of land. The possibilities were endless! He, too, shares the same love for the outdoors and is self-employed, owning his own contracting business. For much of 2023, I spent exploring the idea of starting a flower farm and ultimately took a course on the ins and outs of doing so. In 2024, I invested much of my time and money into what is now The Backyard Flower Farm. As a business owner himself, my husband is my number one supporter (not to mention he's pretty handy)!

As I embark on this exciting journey, my goal is to continue learning, growing, and sharing the beauty and joy of flowers with you all. I look forward to the years ahead, filled with new blooms and endless possibilities!
